JAZZ
The Spanner Big Band, infused with the infectious personality of leader Dan Spanner with his boundless energy and enthusiasm, bringing humour, surreal observations and audience participation to the big band genre. With a core of loyal and high class musicians, The Spanner Big Band plays music written and arranged by members of the band and other colleagues and friends as well as from the Greats’ repertoires of the past. Formed in 2006, the band play regular gigs, choosing not to rehearse but to hone the music ‘live’. Past residencies include; Tufnells, The Cross Kings, Kings Cross Social Club, Cottons, ‘Round Midnight and The Gunners.
